Salary up to £65K

Do you have the drive, passion and leadership skills to ensure pupils at our Newcastle-based primary academy are given the best possible start to their education?

Thomas Walling Primary Academy is at the very heart of the local community and we have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced deputy headteacher or headteacher.

As part of the growing family of schools in the Laidlaw Schools Trust (LST), Thomas Walling Primary’s pupils enjoy unique, life-changing opportunities to learn and grow.

For example, Trust sponsor Lord Laidlaw has financed the establishment of The Thomas Walling Music Project which provides pupils with their own musical instrument – working with Durham University to investigate the impact of daily music on academic outcomes.

The Trustees are seeking to appoint a dynamic Head of School from January 2018 to drive the school forward and help every pupil realise their full potential.

Thomas Walling is a 2FE Academy with Nursery and Two-Year-Old provision and is one of six academies within the Laidlaw Schools Trust based in the North East of England.

This is a development opportunity for an aspirational senior leader to work under the leadership of an experienced Executive Principal who oversees our primary academies in Newcastle.

The successful candidate will join a successful multi-academy trust where all academies support each other to the benefit of our pupils and their families. Our academies also enjoy strong support from an experienced LST central team, based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
