Assistant Leader of Music and Performance
Part Time 0.6 FTE

Salary – £30,000 per annum FTE (actual salary £18,000 per annum)
A rare opportunity has arisen at Thomas Walling Primary Academy and other Laidlaw Schools Trust schools to appoint a talented and experienced practitioner, with a proven track record of delivering good to outstanding provision, to support the teaching of Music across our schools.
Since 2015, Thomas Walling Primary Academy has been piloting a large-scale Music Project, using music across the school to support, encourage and inspire pupils and their learning. The project is now expanding, and we are looking to appoint an inspirational practitioner to work closely with the Director of Music and Performance and the University of Durham to support the delivery of outstanding quality music tuition and other musical experiences.
The ability to play both the piano and another instrument confidently and competently is essential.

Teacher of English – Full Time (Excelsior Academy)
Excelsior Academy, part of Laidlaw Schools Trust is Newcastle’s first ‘All through’ Academy which provides education for children from aged 3 to 19 years.
The Academy has recently been recognised as one of the top 200 most improved schools nationally for GSCE results, specifically 5+ A* – C including English. Successful candidates will play an important role in our continuous drive for further improvement and will have the potential to work in Key Stages three, four and five.
